My friend Alison was pregnant with her son at the time of her 30th birthday. Therefore she postponed the festivities until a year later when she could celebrate the occasion properly. Alison decided on a brunch in the Pavilion at the restaurant bobo. We had our own area all to ourselves in the back of the townhouse. After mingling for about an hour while people arrived and drinks were served, we were seated for a yummy brunch. We later migrated to the bar area downstairs in the Den. What a great place to throw a party!
bobo is located on three floors of a century old townhouse in the heart of New York’s West Village. bobo is a farm-to-table restaurant with a seasonal menu of contemporary American cuisine. The environment is elegant with an intimate and fun twist.
From their site: “The décor blends old world charm with whimsical accents and the various rooms of the house offer a variety of atmospheres. We have hosted weddings, anniversaries, corporate dinners and even Vera Wang’s 2008 Spring fashion show.”
The bobo townhouse is available for private events and has various rooms, facilities and menus for a variety of occasions.

This Garden/Pavilion is a great open space.
The Garden opens the first week of May and remains open until about the end of September. It’s wonderful to be outside in your own little garden in the middle of the city for a private party, brunch or happy hour.
Covered from roughly October to April, the Pavilion continues to serve as a great spot decorated with these wonderful hanging lamps.

For brunch, they often do $20 for wine and Prosecco instead of beer, but that is the baseline package. All parties may just go on consumption if they like. Also offered are carafes of cocktails for $25 or pitchers for $50. They have their own version of a mimosa called “the bobo”. It is quite refreshing and delicious.
Bottles of wine cost on average about $35 each.
With the prix fixe, bobo will type up your own menu with the title of your event. Always a nice touch!
This menu is an example of the classic brunch.
I had the rancheros which was quite tasty. The griddled cheese and french toast were very rich and bites of each where thankfully passed around the table.
bobo has a visual display of their menu here. Their menus are seasonal and so the available options will be emailed to you to pick from.
To book a private party or to view the house, please contact bobo’s event directors:
Kyle or Bot at 212-488-2626 (main number).
He handles day parties while she handles the evenings.

For parties, bobo does not have a room fee. They do have a booking agreement document that should be filled out as soon as possible. They cannot hold the space or date until they secure a credit card for their cancellation policy which is spelled out in the agreement for the different types of parties they offer.
